All-America Selections will celebrate its 75th Diamond Anniversary
in 2007. To commemorate the fortuitous mission of introducing
clearly superior new varieties, AAS announces the All
America Classics. These winners have stood the test of time. The five
All America Classics are survivors, known for improved traits
and worthy of praise. We applaud the varieties and their breeders.
For the first time AAS opens a door, introducing the breeder
of the AAS Winner and providing insight into the world of breeding.
AAS history began with W. Ray Hastings founding the
organization in 1932 with seed money donated by the
Southern Seedsmen Association. Special celebrations
are planned for 2007.
